Thanks for taking a moment to see what's behind the music.  You'll find both me and my music are possibly too revealing.  That's who I am now, but I wasn't always.

Like most of you, my life's had many twists and turns.  The adage "If you want to make God laugh, tell him (her or them) your plans". Definitely resonates with me.

I've been a doctor for the U.S. Olympic team (specifically track and field) and competed in the Ironman Triathlon myself (I've even had dreams of making the Olympic team...didn't happen). I've been married twice (once to a woman and once to a man), have two children and nearly died a few years ago from a heart attack. Now I'm writing and producing music. You see, life's never been a straight, predictable line for me, but it probably hasn't been for you either.

Of course, the real person is rarely told by our greatest accomplishments,  but rather the subtle day to day connections involving the people and things we love.

For me, nothing has been as satisfying, powerful and devastating as my search for love. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this is true for you too.

I've written songs since I was a teenager, but  the ones that mean the most to me are those when I dared to write as honestly as I could. So often writers write in code.  It's embarrassing to be that vulnerable and real.  I write not just about my own search, but about others including my father and two sons.

A few years ago, I had a heart attack and my life, without warning, seemed to be ending. Obviously, I was wrong but I see things a little differently now than I did the day before.

The fear of embarrassment I once had now seems petty. So the songs I'd once written for my ears only, I now happily share with anyone who wants to listen. I know it's just my story, but we're probably not that different. Our details may vary, but aren't we all just looking for love in one form or another.

Unfortunately, the songs I heard in my head were much better than came from my voice. So my search for vocalists began. Not only should their vocals align with the piece, but they needed to add something to it.  A piece of themselves through their tone, dynamics and history that would give much more than I ever could alone.

In most of the songs I played the piano and most of the other instruments, but hired a few musicians when my skills couldn't get me there.

On the music page, not only will you be able to play the song, but read its backstory, For some of you, it will add a dimension you couldn't know otherwise.

If you enjoy the songs, please join my mailing list so I can let you know when I release a new song, and if were performing near you.  Of course, I won't share it with anyone else.   Feel free to share your thoughts. Who knows, maybe your story will be my next song.
